Welcome to Defiance High School’s official website! As you can see, our website is full of information designed to help answer your questions, provide you access to the school’s calendar, DHS sporting event schedules and updates, a directory of our faculty, online grades, and much more.

 

Defiance High School has a student enrollment of approximately 820 students and our students who desire a technical education, attend the Four County Career Center. Our rich and diverse curriculum offers over 140 courses to all students. DHS prides itself on being a leader in technology, as we utilize one to one Chromebook devices, which places technology directly in each student’s hands. Teachers have integrated this tool into the classroom, energizing the way students learn.

 

From staff to students, our building is filled everyday with engaging minds, high expectations, and a commitment to excellence. Our experienced and dedicated staff members, of which 75% of our teachers hold a Master’s or higher degree, routinely lead our students to excellence in academics and extracurricular programs. Our A Cappella Choir recently was honored by receiving a superior in AA music at the OMEA State competitions. The 165-member Marching Band of Class has now earned Superior ratings in state competition for 34 consecutive years, marched in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, Chicago Miracle Mile Parade, and Disney! DHS offers its drama and music students an opportunity to take part in a musical each year, while our Quiz Team have attended national competition 9 times, and were the 2005 and 2008 Northwest Regional Champs and the 2018-2019 WBL Champs.

 

We also excel in athletic competition, with regular appearances in state tournaments for our football, soccer, wrestling, volleyball, track, swimming, baseball and cross-country teams. In short, no matter what a student’s individual interests may be, there is a place for them at Defiance High School where they can take part in well-organized, high-level competition and performance!
