The Defiance City Schools Board of Education is beginning the
process to fill a vacancy on the board created by the resignation of Mr. Ken
Wetstein, who is relocating to another state. The board plans to appoint
the new board member at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 10 and the new
board member will then serve a term of five (5) months. Should the
selected individual wish to remain on the board past that time, he or she would
need to run for election in November 2019.
Individuals interested in interviewing for the appointed position should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Defiance City Schools Board of Education, 801 S. Clinton St. Defiance Ohio 43512, attention Mr. Garry Rodenberger, Board President. The deadline for submission is July 5, 2019. Board members are expected to attend two (2) meetings each month, special meetings as required, scheduled committee and school events, and to serve as a respected liaison between the school community and district administration. The board of education is responsible for the governance of the district as well as the employment and supervision of the district's superintendent and treasurer.
