Yearbooks are in! If you ordered a 2010 Panorama please pick it up in room
101. Pick up times are before school starting at 7:15 and after school until
3:30. If you did not order a yearbook but would like to purchase one there
are extra copies available. The cost is $60.00 and can be paid in cash or
check. Make checks payable to Defiance High School.

Any student interested in working on the Banner, our school newspaper, please
see your counselor by September 1st.

Do you remember your 5th Grade Camp experience? Now it is your chance to give
back by becoming a camp counselor. This year camp will be October 18th –
22nd. We are in need of at least 20 responsible, fun, and dedicated 16 to 18
year olds who can commit a week of their lives to 5th graders. Please sign up
in the office and fill out the application by September 10th.

ODOT¹s contractor will begin reconstruction of the Downs and
Jefferson intersection as early as Monday, August 30 but no later than
Wednesday, September 1. The intersection will remain open to traffic with
potential closures lasting no more than 15 minutes when traffic signals are
installed. This construction is scheduled to be complete by October 31. We appreciate your patience during this construction. Students please plan your commute times to allow for possible delays. CONSTRUCTION DELAYS ARE NOT EXCUSED TARDIES!!!!

Wednesday, August 25th - Tuesday, August 31st.
"The varsity girl's soccer team is looking for a high school student
interested in keeping stats for the 2010 season. Responsibilities include
being in attendance at home and away games and keeping stats in the score
book. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Schroeder as soon as possible."

The DHS girls' golf team split a tri-match with Edon and Prairie Heights,
Indiana on Thursday at Edon. Prairie Heights won the match with a score of
217. DHS was one stroke behind with 218 and Edon was third with 231. .
DHS's record is now 8-1 on the season and they return to action on Monday at
Lima vs. an excellent Lima Shawnee team as well as Celina in Western Buckeye
League play.

On Thursday, the boys golf team beat WBL foe Kenton by a score of 163 to 177.
Jacob Behringer was medalist with a 39. Jacob Moore and Gabe Vittorio each
shot 41. Josh Scott added a 42. The varsity team is now 3-0 in the WBL.

The boys golf team is in action again on Monday, when they host
Ottawa-Glandorf at Kettenring Country Club.

Please announce the following on Friday, 8/27 and on Monday and Tuesday, 8/30
and 8/31.There is math tutoring available to all mathematics students. On
Mondays and Wednesdays, tutoring will be held from 2:45 – 3:30 after school in
Mr. Wahl’s room, #103. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it will be held from 7:00 –
7:45 before school in Mr. Weaver’s room, #105. Please take advantage of this opportunity.
