Dear Families, Employees and Community Leaders,
Today, Governor DeWine announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19, he has ordered that all kindergarten through 12th grade schools close for a period of three weeks. This order includes all public, community, and private K-12 schools in the state.
Defiance City Schools last day of school before the 3 week closure will be FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020.
Over the next 72 hours, the Ohio Department of Education will develop guidance to ensure the continuity of important student services, including a strategy for providing meals. We have been preparing and will work to provide education through alternative means.
Below is a list of steps being taken at Defiance City Schools effective Monday, March 16, 2020.
* All District Facilities are CLOSED.
* Only essential staff will report Monday, March 16, 2020.
* All school activities are POSTPONED until further notice
There will be many questions and we ask for your patience as we take the steps necessary to implement the recommendations and directives from our government and public health leaders.
