At the April 10, 2019 regular school board meeting, the Defiance City Schools Board of Education members passed the following motion in regards to the 1918 building located at 629 Arabella Street, Defiance, Ohio:
A motion was made to pursue further negotiations with the Community Building Partners, LLC (CBP), on the express condition that:
1. CBP places three hundred thousand ($300,000) dollars and no/100 in escrow with a mutually acceptable escrow agent on or before April 17, 2019, and
2. CBP presents a final lease agreement on terms acceptable to the Defiance City School Board of Education on or before the April 22, 2019 Regular Meeting.
In addition, CBP will be afforded forty-eight (48) hours in which to commit itself to depositing the funds in question. If CBP has not committed itself to making such deposit within such time, the Defiance City School Board of Education's offer to pursue further negotiations will be withdrawn.
