Attention Anyone Eighteen Years of Age on or Before November 3, 2026.
To register for the General Election of November 3, 2026 in Ohio, you must register by October 5, 2026.
Attached is a voter registration form that can be filled out and returned to the Defiance County Board of Elections at:

Also attached is a youth permission/application form for the Youth at the Booth Program. Schools and parents must agree with the intent of the student to work at a polling location. The law has changed so that a seventeen year old Junior or Senior is eligible to work at the polling locations.
Students who are also in sports, extra-curriculars, co-curriculars, or working should verify with their respective coaches/advisors/managers that they can be excused from practice/performance/job before signing on. They are at the polling locations from 5:30 AM to approximately 8:45PM. The Defiance County Board of Elections wants to make sure those who apply understand that there is a sincere need of a hard commitment! They must be able to rely upon the word of the worker. They cannot be left in a lurch. This could cause voter irregularities and they want to avoid any such foibles. This will prove to be a contentious and heated election. Everyone wants to avoid false accusations of any sort. Your county, state, and country need you! Please consider stepping up and helping out!
If you have any questions please see Mr. Zipfel in Room #212 or any other Social Studies Teacher. We will be more than happy to help anyone. Mr. Zipfel also has traditional paper forms for registration and the department will be sure such forms are forwarded on to the Board of Elections.
Finally, Federal law requires nearly all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants to register at age 18. The agency permits males up to age 25 to complete their registration with the Selective Service System. In a national emergency, the Selective Service System will use the registry to provide personnel to the Department of War and alternative service for conscientious objectors, if authorized by the President and Congress.
