Holiday Season
As we move into our second grading period, please work with your child on a nightly routine that includes reading for 20 minutes.  Research shows that a consistent bed time and three healthy meals also lead to academic success.  As we conclude our first round of parent teacher conferences, we encourage you to continue to communicate with your child's teacher ... especially if concerns were expressed by either party.

Be sure to take a look at our upcoming events.  We have several concerts and spirit days planned for the month of December.  Our last day will be Wednesday, December 20 with an early dismissal at 2:45 p.m.

Enjoy this time of year with your family!

Mentoring Opportunities at DES!
If you would like to spend some quality time with one of our KinderStart-Fifth grade students, we have several mentoring opportunities available to you throughout the school year.   Click on the link below to get started.  We will need you to complete the applicaiton and return it to our Defiance County Mentoring Supervisor.  They will process your application, do a quick background check, offer training and you're all set!  We ask that you visit with your assigned student at least once a month, but encourage once a week (avg. time is 30 minutes).  This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and build the self-esteem of a child at the same time!  Win-Win!
