RED RIBBON WEEK
We will celebrate living drug-free lives during the week of October 27-31. The theme days will coincide with our PTO book fair as follows:
Monday: Love Yourself and Your Kingdom - Be Drug Free, Students will wear stars, stripes or red, white and blue
Tuesday: Guard Your Castle - Fight off Drugs, Students will wear Camo or peasant brown.
Wednesday: Slay Drugs, Not Dragons!, Students will wear purple or green
Thursday: Be a Knight in Shining Armor - Save the World from Drugs, Students will wear gold, silver and lots of bling.
Friday: Cast a Spell for a Healthy You - Say 'NO' to Drugs!, Students will wear 'wizard white' or workout clothes.
PTO BOOK FAIR
Students will preview the book fair during their library time on October 28-31. Books will be available for purchase during the week of November 3 during library time. We will also have evening hours for parents and grandparents to attend on Tuesday, November 4 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.; and on Thursday, November 6 from 6:00-7:30. The book fair is located in the K-2 Gym.
PTO will again host a "grand" event during our annual book fair. Students are encouraged to bring their grandparent or another "grand" person in their life to the book fair on Thursday, November 6 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Several free games and snacks will be available at the Grand Event. The book fair is located in the K-2 Gym.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 13. Information should be in your child's take home folder. If you did not receive an invitation to conferences, please contact your child's classroom teacher.
VETERAN'S DAY BREAKFAST/ASSEMBLY
Tuesday, November 11, DES will host a veteran's breakfast for our students with veterans in their families. The breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. We welcome all veterans to attend with their child or grandchild.
We will also hold an assembly that afternoon in the gym to celebrate Veteran's Day at 2:00 p.m. for our student body.
DES will be on Thanksgiving Break Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28. School will resume on Monday, December 1.
