Megan Vogelsong

Vogelsong was a member of five Western Buckeye League championship teams during her time at Defiance High School. A standout in both cross country and track, Vogelsong was a member of three straight championship teams in cross country, earning first-team honors in the WBL each season. She finished first in the WBL as a junior and was runner-up as a senior. Vogelsong-led squads placed fourth and being named first team Academic all-state three times. She won five two league and two district titles. She was a five-time district and three-tine regional champ. At state track, Vogelsong was a state qualifier in the 3200 meter relay three times, placing fifth once and seventh once. She also qualified in the 1600 meters and 3200 meters twice each. As a senior, Vogelsong set school records in both the mile and two-mile, eventually resetting her own record in the two-mile five times. She won district, regional and state championships in the 3200 meters. She currently holds the school mark in the 1600 and the 3200 along with record times in the 3200 relay and 6400 relay. After graduating from DHS, Vogelsong ran cross country and track at the University of Toledo where she was part of four Mid-American Conference cross country championship teams that were nationally ranked. In track at UT, Vogelsong holds three top-10 finishes in the 3k, 5k and 10k, the later event in which Vogelsong ran individually in the first round of the NCAA's. Following graduation at UT, she ran her first marathon this past October placing third in her age group and 22nd overall in Columbus to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Vogelsong currently runs on a club team, the Playmakers New Balance Elite, and will be competing in several road races along with the club cross country nationals in December. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in physical therapy at the University of Toledo
