Mikaela Tolbert

A three-sprot standout, Tolbert lettered four years in both soccer and track and three years in basketball. Tolbert helped Defiance to a district runner-up finish in 2007 in basketball and won the 2007 and 2008 DHS tp defensive award. In soccer, Tolbert was first team all-WBL as a senior and second team as a junior. She also earned all-district honors for two ears. Her standout sport was track, qualifying for state four times. A key member of the first girls WBl track championship, Tolbert was a league runner-up, district and regional champ finished 14th at state in the 400 as a freshman. A year later, Tolbert was WBL and district champ in the 400 and region runner-up before again placing 14th at state. She was also a member of the state qualifying 1600 relay team. As a junior, Tolbert ran on three school record relay teams, the 800, 1600 team. The 1600 relay finished fourth in the state and 3200 was fifth. Individually, Tolbert was the WBL champion, placed second at districts, third at regionals, and 10 at state in the 400. In Tolbert's final year at Defiance, the senior won the WBL 400 meters and went on to capture the 800 meter district championship, was second in the 800 at regionals and third at state, setting a school record. She was a member of the 3200 relay that won WBL, district and regional titles while finishing seventh at the state meet. At the time of her graduation, Tolbert owned one individual school mark and was part of four relay records. She went on to attend Urbana, starting all four years in soccer, graduating in 2013. Tolbert currently resides in the United Kingdom serving as an officer in the United States Air Force.
