Special Education Parent Survey

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) would like to invite you to participate in a short, 25 question survey about your involvement in your student's education.  Research suggests that parental involvement is a key predictor of positive educational outcomes.  You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services.  The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across Ohio.  If you are eligible to participate and you enroll in the study, you will be entered in a drawing for several $50 Amazon gift cards.  Your chance of winning a gift card is approximately 2.0%.  Please click on this link https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_38GasERthq6j62G..

DCS Employees Will Receive the COVID 19 Vaccine

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

Defiance City Schools employees will have the option to receive their COVID-19 vaccines on Friday, February 26, 2021 along with all other Defiance County Schools.

This is exciting news for the county and something that we have been waiting to hear. Defiance City Schools has partnered with Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital to vaccinate not only our employees, but also staff in other school districts in our county.

Please make note of this important information:

Friday, February 26: NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

As you may know, the COVID-19 vaccines require a second dose. This has already been scheduled for March 19, 2021.

Friday, March 19: NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

Also, this plan is subject to change at any time, and will be communicated as soon as humanly possible.*

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Sincerely,

Robert Morton, Superintendent

DHS Holiday Choir Concert

DHS Holiday Choir Concert

The DHS Choir is pleased to present their annual Holiday Concert under the direction of Mr. Eric West and accompanied by Mrs. Lori Schultz.  Although this concert is not the traditional event we come to know, this project showcases how awesome the DHS students are and how hard they have been working during this challenging time. The songs were recorded together while wearing masks and being social distanced in the choir room.  Then students recorded video of themselves singing the songs while at home.  Using technology, the beautiful voices and videos were compiled together.  Prepare to be amazed by clicking here for the performance.
