Tyler Burgoon

Burgoon was a four-year letterman in baseball and lettered for two years in golf at Defiance High School. Burgoon was  three-year starter as a pitcher and catcher at Defiance. He was Player of the Year in Division II his senior season while earning Louisville Slugger High School All-American honors as a utility player. As a hitter, Burgoon stands third in career runs scored at DHS, fourth in career stolen bases, fifth in career walks, career doubles and season walks, eighth in career hits and 10th in career extra base hits. On the mound, he holds schools records for season apperances, career saves, season saves and consecutive shutout innings. He is second in career appearances, third in career wins and consecutive games won, fourth in career strikeouts. He holds the season-low ERA and eighth in season strikeouts. He holds the best single-season winning percentage of .1000 when he finished 11-0. He went on to play at the University of Michigan from 2008-10 where he had 19 career saves, second in UM history. After being named the Cape Cod Baseball League Relief Pitcher of the Year the summer of 2009, Burgoon had a big season with the Wolverines in 2010. That year he was second team Big 10 as a relief pitcher with 10 saves, tying a school mark. That year he was named Michigan's Most Valuable Pitcher. Burgoon was selected in the 10th round of the 2010 draft by the Seattle Mariners. He played in 2010 for the Evereett Aquasox in the Short Season A League. He went on to play for the Clinton Lumberkings (Low A) in 2011, High Desert Mavericks (High A) in 2012 and both the Hackson Generals (AA) and Tacoma Rainiers (AAA) in 2013 Burgoon lives and works in Ann Arbor as a sales represetative for JP Sales Company. He also coaches the Ann Arbor A's iou baseball teams.
