New Student Registration Instructions

In an attempt to streamline record keeping and cut costs Defiance City Schools has implemented an Online student registration system:  PowerSchool Registration. Via this system parents/guardians can register and update student information such as address, phone number, emergency contacts, doctors and more. All families wishing to register a student not currently attending Defiance City Schools can follow the link listed below.

In addition, after registering a student all families of enrolled students will receive a “SnapCode” which families will use to add additional student information not gathered during the initial registration process. Every year that your student attends Defiance City Schools you will receive a new “SnapCode” which will allow you to update any student information that has changed from the previous year.

To begin the process you will need to create a PowerSchool Registration Account. After following the link below please click on Create Account. If you have previously used a SnapCode to update records for an existing student or you have already used PowerSchool Registration to register a new student you do NOT need a new account; please use the email address that you have used previously. Unfortunatly PowerSchool Parent accounts used to check on student grades will not work for New Student Registation. To create an account you will need a valid email address. If you do not have a valid email address a free address can be created via Google, Yahoo, HotMail or any other service of your choosing. Please make note of the email address and password that you use as it will be required to update future records.

Once you have created an account, or signed into an existing account, you will need to start a new form for New Student Registration 2020-2021. From there you can begin the registration process. If you have questions please contact your student’s school or Central Registration at 419-782-0070.

After you complete the online enrollment form, you are required to bring the following documentation to our Central Registration at Central Office located at 801 S. Clinton St., Defiance, OH  43512:

  • birth certificate
  • immunization records
  • proof of residency, such as a utility bill, lease agreement, insurance bill, bank statement
  • custody papers if applicable
  • IEP and ETR if applicable

We MUST have these forms before the registration process can be completed.
