Top-ranked Defiance hit the road Saturday for a pair of contest and came away with a 6-1 triumph at Delta before making its way to Sylvania Southview and capturing a 6-2 triumph.

"I was happy with the at-bats today and the pitching got good outs when needed," said Defiance skipper Tom Held. "Against Southview we could not take advantage of 13 walks. Basically were not able to put them away when we had the chance."

Defiance opened up a tight game with Delta by scoring eight times in its final three at-bats against Delta to push a 3-1 lead to an 11-1 triumph.

Ethan Willitzer earned the victory on the mound, allowing only three hits in four innings. Mazen Kanouh also pitched for the Bulldogs.

Dom Gentile, Rob Zeigler, Austin Yant and Joe Keween all had two hits to power a 15-hit Defiance attack.

Austin Hancock, who started the second game at Southview, was given huge run support when the Bulldogs plated five runs in the top of the first. Hancock allowed just one run over five innings on four hits before being relieved by Weston Rivers.

The Bulldogs (14-0) benefited from 13 walks by Southview pitching while adding four hits. Dom Romero had a double to pace Defiance.

Defiance will host Fairview on Monday before St. Marys comes to town on Thursday as WBL action continues. Toledo Central Catholic also visits this week on Thursday. The Bulldogs will travel to Van Wert on Friday and to Elmwood on Saturday.
