ODE Licensure

Licensure application/renewals for all certified, aides and paraprofessionals is completed internally through Mrs. Curtzwiler, the Superintendent's Secretary.   

Background Checks

Background checks are conducted in the Superintendent's Office.  The district completes both BCI and FBI background checks electronically.  Typically, these can be completed Monday-Friday between 7:30 to 10:30 a. m. or from 12:00 noon to 3:30 p. m. Anyone in need of these services should call 419-782-0070 to confirm availability on a given day.

Cost of background checks:
BCI only - $35.00
FBI only - $35.00
BCI and FBI - $70.00

Additional $5.00 charge for bus drivers.

Harrassment/Discrimination Officer

The Assistant SuperintendentSheri Steyer serves as the district’s designated Harassment Officer.  If an employee/organization believe they are being harassed or discriminated against by another employee, supervisor or parent/student, please contact Sheri at 419-782-0070.


DCEA/OAPSE Associations

The district works cooperatively with the teaching (DCEA) and the support staff (OAPSE) associations.   Both contracts have specific employment guidelines to implement before the district can hire from outside.  

Substitute Support Staff

Substitute support staff areas encompass:  the cafeteria, aides, bus drivers and custodial.  These employees are strictly as needed for a school year.  Interested and qualified candidates should call the Superintendent's Office at 419-782-0070 for application procedures.

Substitute Teaching

In order to be qualified as a substitute teacher, the candidate must meet the following:  possess a valid Ohio teaching license or be eligible to obtain one through verification of a bachelors degree.  These employees are strictly as needed for a school year.  Interested and qualified candidates should call the Superintendent's Office at 419-782-0070 for application procedures.

AESOP Assistance

The district utilizes AESOP for teachers absences and assigning substitutes. Anyone who experiences difficulty in using the system should contact the AESOP Administrator at 419-782-0070 for assistance.
