Welcome to the Defiance City Schools website. We have an outstanding school district that serves nearly 2,500 students in our two schools. 

We offer a broad curriculum that suits the needs of all students, regardless of individual strengths and interests. We have fantastic programming for high ability students, students at grade level, and students with extensive academic needs.

Our elementary school (opened in 2009) is set up in two separate grade bands. Pre-kindergarten (Kinderstart) – second grade and grades three, four and five. In these settings we establish a foundation for learning by placing an emphasis on reading and mathematics.

Our middle school (opened in 2018) serves students in grades six, seven and eight. This environment provides students opportunities to explore a variety of new curricular experiences, while continuing to build on core academic areas.

Defiance Senior High School (opened in 2018) equips our ninth through twelfth grade students with challenging coursework and programs such as, pre-engineering, DECA and college credit plus opportunities.
